All 120 bridges of the Lhasa-Nyingchi railway completed in Chinese Tibet
The completion of the bridge over the Brahmaputra River in Tibet in southwestern China put an end to the construction of all 120 bridges of the Lhasa-Nyingchi railway, Xinhua News Agency reported on June 21. The railway has a length of 435 km and connects two large regional cities. In early April, all 47 tunnels of the railway were completed. The 525.1 meter long bridge at an altitude of 3350 meters became the world's highest arched bridge with reinforced concrete steel pipes. It is noteworthy that the Lhasa-Nyingchi road consists of 75% bridges and tunnels. It is designed for the movement of trains at a speed of 160 km/h. It is expected that the road will be commissioned in 2021.
