In Buryatia, implement a plan to prevent the import of plague from Mongolia
In Buryatia, an operational plan for the prevention of the supply and spread of plague has been developed and is being implemented. According to the news agency in the press service of the regional department of Rospotrebnadzor, the issues of plague prevention are relevant for the republic in connection with the neighborhood with Mongolia, where natural centers of the disease are located. Outbreaks of plague are sometimes recorded in the border Mongol aimaks, which most often occur due to the consumption of raw groundhog meat. The last case occurred the other day in aimak Khovd, in connection with which quarantine was declared there. Rospotrebnadzor notes that taking into account closed borders due to the coronavirus pandemic, there are no risks of bringing plague into the republic from abroad. At the same time, the internal risks of the import of infections from the territories of Tuva, Altai, Trans-Baikal Territory, where active epizootic transboundary natural foci of the plague are located, are increasing, the management noted. In this regard, republican specialists are constantly monitoring issues of anti-epidemic readiness. These include training and staffing of health facilities with equipment, protective equipment and disinfectants. Recall that earlier residents of Tuva were urged to be vigilant in connection with the outbreak of bubonic plague in Mongolia.
